You will see exactly what has been going on in Rome for a bunch of us. It has been hard on everyone here, but please just read. Otherwise, the trip from JFK-Helsinki, Finland...food was good, seats were fine, but let me just give everyone out there a word of advice: Don't ever plan on an 8 hr layover in Helsinki when it's raining, because the airport wasn't fun! All 3 of us (Matt, myself and Dave) slept like bums when we finally found seats that had no armrests. For a couple hours too! It was nice...
But then, we finally made it to Rome! Got in the taxi, which was playing all American music of course, and then eventually got to Campo de Fiori! It's absolutely gorgeous here, minus the tons of steps it takes to get to my apartment in the 115 degree weather. I will post some pictures from the first few days here:

IN ROME!

Now, some pictures of my case study, Santa Maria della Pace, in Rome, one of the most beautiful buildings I've ever seen:

There are definitely more posts to come. Right now Matt is safe away in a hotel, getting ample rest and relaxation that he needs...I am on the internet here, but just found out we have some wireless in a little area in our apartment, so I will be updating almost every day if I can. I'll keep everyone updated on the situation...Thanks for all your thoughts/prayers...we all need it. Take care, ciao!
